Pooled Credit System

Subtype

Definition: Community-managed liquidity or credit pools with ecological or social goals.

Description

These systems use shared credit issuance to fund regenerative activities or offer UBI-like disbursements.

Example

The Regeneration in Toloka pool on the Sarafu Network illustrates the subtype by enabling multiple communities to issue and share credit instruments tied to regenerative activity. Within this system, five Ukrainian ecovillages—Tepla Gora, Happy People, Omelyanivka, Svitanok-Samara, and Charivne—create local vouchers that reflect contributions such as tree planting, food production, and volunteer labor. These are aggregated into a shared GEN Ukraine network voucher, effectively pooling localized credits into a broader mutual aid and accountability system. External donors provide liquidity in Celo Dollars, which circulate through the network and are redeemable against local credit, allowing transparent, decentralized financing of grassroots ecological work.
