Consumer Goods

Subtype

Definition: Tokens linked to the ownership or inventory rights of environmentally-certified consumer products.

Description

These assets represent custody or claim over specific goods (e.g. apparel, electronics) that meet sustainability criteria, and are often used in digital supply chains.

Example

OpenVino is a real-world asset (RWA) protocol that tokenizes organic wine production through vintage-linked ERC-20 tokens. Each token represents a bottle of organic wine from a specific harvest, issued directly by the winery after the yield is finalized. These tokens are first offered through a “Vintage Coin Offering” (VCO) and later traded on OpenVino’s decentralized exchange, Viniswap, where their price evolves dynamically based on demand and wine aging. Tokens can be redeemed for physical bottles, with unredeemed tokens remaining liquid on secondary markets.
